At Fervor & Zeal, we’ve always believed that business should be a force for good. From day one, our mission has been clear: we give back 50% of the profit from EVERY purchase—25% to the artist who designed it and 25% to an organization devoted to making an impact. This summer, we took that commitment even further by achieving B Corp certification.

What Does B Corp Certification Mean?

B Corp Certification demonstrates a company’s entire social and environmental impact through a rigorous third-party assessment. Unlike traditional corporations that prioritize shareholder profits above all else, B Corp Certification signals to your customers, employees, and investors that your business is committed to making a difference.

The certification isn’t just about scoring points on a test—it’s about fundamentally changing how business operates. We completed our certification under the current Version 6 standards, which required achieving a minimum score of 80 points on the B Impact Assessment while demonstrating our commitment across all areas of governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

Why B Corp Certification Aligns with Our Values

Community-Driven Impact

Our partnership with artists and organizations has always been at the heart of what we do. B Corp certification formalizes our commitment to stakeholder governance—ensuring that our decisions consider not just our shareholders, but our artists, partner organizations, customers, and communities. F&Z is for artists. F&Z is for change. F&Z is for people and the planet over profit—and B Corp certification gives us the framework to make that promise legally binding.

Environmental Responsibility

We’ve already demonstrated our commitment to sustainability through initiatives like our partnership with Sew Loka in San Diego’s Barrio Logan community. When your beloved F&Z pieces have lived their full life and can no longer be worn, don’t throw them away. Send them to us in San Diego, and we’ll ensure they get a second chance through Sew Loka’s expert upcycling process. B Corp certification will push us to expand these efforts across our entire supply chain and operations.

Authentic Values, Not Greenwashing

In an era where many companies engage in superficial sustainability marketing, B Corp certification provides independent verification of our impact. B Lab certification is a third-party standard requiring companies to meet social sustainability and environmental performance standards, meet accountability standards, and be transparent to the public. This transparency matters because our community deserves to know that our commitments are real, not just marketing speak.

The Reality: The Process Was Arduous, But Worth Every Moment

Let’s be honest—the process to become a certified B Corp was arduous. The months of documentation, policy reviews, stakeholder interviews, and verification processes tested our commitment at every turn. We had to demonstrate measurable impact across every aspect of our business, from our supply chain practices to our governance structures.

But here’s why we can say with certainty it was worth it: the business world needs to change. For too long, the pursuit of profit has come at the expense of people and the planet. By completing this rigorous certification process, we’ve joined a movement that’s proving business can be different.

Every hour we spend documenting our supply chain practices, every policy we implement to ensure fair treatment of workers, every environmental impact we measure and reduce—these efforts contribute to building an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative global economy.

Our Commitment Moving Forward

As a newly certified B Corp, we’re committed to maintaining and improving our standards. To maintain certification, Certified B Corps must update their B Impact Assessment and verify their updated B Impact score every three years. While we completed our certification under Version 6 standards, we’re already preparing for the transition to the new standards that will be required for our 2028 recertification.

This isn’t a one-time achievement for us—it’s a commitment to continuous improvement. We’re constantly evaluating our operations and looking for ways to strengthen our impact:

  • Expanding our transparency around supply chain practices
  • Implementing more robust environmental impact measurements
  • Strengthening our governance structures to formally prioritize stakeholder interests
  • Developing new programs to support our artist community and partner organizations

Join Us in Celebrating This Milestone

Our achievement of B Corp certification isn’t just about earning a badge—it’s about officially joining a global movement of companies that believe business can and should be a force for good. As of August 2025, there are 10,055 certified B Corporations across 161 industries in 102 countries, and we’re proud to now be counted among them.

When you choose Fervor & Zeal, you’re not just getting great apparel designed by talented artists. You’re supporting a company that’s committed to transparent impact, community investment, and environmental responsibility—verified by one of the world’s most rigorous certification processes.

Because in the end, Fervor & Zeal is not another company worshiping at the altar of capitalism. We’re here to prove that business can be different. Better. More human.

The certification process was challenging, but completing it has validated what we’ve believed all along: the future of business—and our planet—depends on companies willing to meet that challenge. We’re proud to be part of the solution.

Thank you to everyone who supported us through this certification journey. We’ll continue sharing our impact, challenges, and learnings as we grow as a certified B Corp. Because transparency isn’t just required for B Corp certification—it’s who we are.
